KARACHI: A three member PPP delegation led by Provincial Minister for Information & Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Tuesday visited MQM Pakistan Bahadurabad Headquarter.
Advisor Law & spokesperson for Sindh Government Barrister Murtaza Wahab and former Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon is also included in the delegation.
MQM’s newly elected Senator Faisal Sabzwari and member Rabita Committee MPA Kanwar Naveed Jameel warmly received the PPP delegation. The meeting which lasted for an hour also attended by Senior Deputy Convener MQM Pakistan Aamir Khan, Javed Hanif, Rauf Siddiqui and Muhammad Hussain.
Later briefing media, Sindh Minister Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, they once again visited MQM Pakistan Headquarter and requested them for support of Syed Yousuf Raza Geelani on Chairman Senate slot. “They also congratulated MQM Pakistan for winning two senate seats, the Minister said and added that they were optimistic that our strong case would be pleaded in the MQM Rabita Committee meeting.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that Rabita Committee would take decision in the best interest of province and for people of rural and urban Sindh. He said many issue were discussed in detail today, particularly development of urban areas was discussed at length.
The Minister said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari believed in the vision of development and he (PPP Chairman) had already issued directives to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and his tem for development of whole province without any discrimination.
He added: “Political door remains open always and discussion remains continue, it is the beauty of democratic process. Though, the provincial minister said that MQM did not support their candidate in senate election, but they came to them again in the hope that they would support Syed Yousuf Raza Geelani on Chairman Senate slot.
Earlier, MQM Pakistan Senior Dy. Convener Aamir Khan informed media persons that they were grateful to PPP delegation for visiting them again.
The PPP delegation greeted us on winning two senate seats as well as requested for support in Chairman senate election. He added that they could not take any decision immediately.
The matter will be discussed in Rabita Committee meeting and we will update PPP, whatever decision is taken by Rabita Committee meeting. Aamir Khan added that apart from senate election, they have once again requested PPP delegation to work together for the betterment of urban and rural population. He said that PPP delegation also agreed with us and our meetings would continue after Chairman senate elections.
