President Zardari to address joint session of Parliament on April 16

ISLAMABAD: A decision to summon a joint session of the parliament on April 16 has been made. President Asif Zardari will address the session and the parliamentary year will begin officially after the presidential address.

The National Assembly will meet on April 18 and the session will deliberate upon the presidential address.

It is also proposed to convene the Senate meeting on April 5. According to sources, the Senate Secretariat sent the summary to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

Newly elected senators will take oath in the Senate session, and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will also request the President to appoint a Presiding Officer for the first session of the Senate.
