F.P. Report
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supremo and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision in the Supreme Court of Pakistan to remove the reference filed against the deviant members.
The counsel for PTI chairman Imran Khan, Faisal Chaudhry had filed a petition in the apex court seeking that the ECP’s decision be declared unconstitutional.
It is pertinent to mention that the Election Commission on May 11 removed the references against the PTI’s deviant members in the National Assembly.
The petition stated that all the evidence was before the ECP but the references were excluded on the basis of lack of evidence while the ECP should have ruled against horse trading and floor crossing for the survival of democracy.
