PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry sent on 14-day judicial remand

LAHORE: A Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent PTI leader Senator Ejaz Chaudhry to jail on 14-day judicial remand in three cases pertaining to May 9 violence, on Wednesday. 

The PTI leader was presented before ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan after the expiry of his two-day physical remand in a case registered by Naseer Abad police station against him for setting a container on fire in Kalma Chowk.

The Lahore police sought physical remand of the PTI leader in four cases pertaining to the May 9 attacks including Kalma Chowk burning incident.  

However, the court discharged Ijaz Chaudhry in case no 367/23 registered in Model Town police station.

The court rejected the police’s plea in three other cases for further physical remand of the suspect for investigation.

The court ordered Ejaz Chaudhry to be sent to jail on 14-day physical remand in the three cases.

These cases are 108/23 registered by Sarwar Road police station, 366/23 registered by Model Town police station, and 2078/23 registered by Naseerabad police station Lahore.
