KARACHI: The Sindh government on Wednesday offered support and facilities to Japanese investors in the province.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah extended this offer while talking to Japanese Consulate Karachi Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda, who called on him at the CM House.
They agreed to work in the sectors of trade, culture, education and others. They also decided to convene a meeting of the department of investment and the Japanese companies.
The Japanese ambassador said his country would establish an industry in Pakistan when the special economic zone would be established.
Murad Shah offered the Japanese companies to invest in agriculture and food industry.
During the meeting, Japan and the Sindh government also agreed to invest in the fishing industry.
Kuninori Matsuda on this occasion lauded the CM for establishing peace in the province.
On April 9, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had called for further strengthening of economic ties between Pakistan and Japan.
This he had said while talking to Japanese Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda, who had called on him in Islamabad.
Calling Japan a basic economic partner of Pakistan, Qureshi had said Japan has been supporting Pakistan in its progress and development in various fields, and Pakistan gives high value to its relations with Japan.
