Some Jawzjan residents demand improvement in telecom service

SHEBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Some residents of Khumab and Khwaja Du Koh districts in northern Jawzjan province have complained low quality of telecommunication service and urged the authorities to address the problem.
Qurban Shah, the resident of Khumad district told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The services of none of the mobile companies are efficient, the signal is very weak while some areas are not under the coverage of the telecom service.”
If they want to call some relatives in some emergency cases in other areas, they needed to walk long distances to establish contact with their relatives and inform them, he said.
Demanding the authorities to address this serious problem, he said that the signal of internet is also very weak.
Noorullah is another resident of Khumab district, he talked about similar problem and said that they have been experiencing this problem since years, this problem has never been solved yet.
He said: “The telephone companies do not work properly since long time, but recently the issue turned worse and we even cannot make a call, we want from relevant authorities to address this issue.”
Naqibullah a resident of Khwaja Du Koh has also complained about the quality of telecom services in this district he added, the internet connection is very weak too.
He added: “The telecom signal is uncatchable in most of the parts of this district, when we make a phone call, the call disconnects often or we cannot hear the voice clearly.”
Shah Nazar of Khwaja Du Koh district complained about a similar issue, he asked the government to solve this problem.
The authorities said that they are trying to find a solution for the improvement of the telecom services of telecommunication companies, some local officials said.
Provincial Telecommunication and Information Technology Director Maulvi Sanaullah Masoom somehow admitted the existence of problems in the services of mobile companies.
He said that they are working on a plan that will solve the problems of telecommunication networks in the provincial capital and districts of Jawzjan province.
He said: “In most of the districts of Jawzjan province, telecommunication networks do not work as they should. Since the beginning of this year, 9 new sites have been activated in the districts and in Sheberghan city, we are trying to create more sites to solve this problem completely.”
The officials have also talked to private telecommunication companies about this problem, efforts are underway to address the existing problems of telecommunication networks according to a plan in all districts of Jawzjan province.
