LANDI KOTAL: Local tribal demanded of the concerned authorities to release his innocent brother, detained by the Islamabad police in a fake smuggling case and investigate his illegal custody for a month.
Addressing to a press conference here in Landi Kotal press club, district Khyber on Thursday evening , Khalil Rehman, Khuga Khel said that a month back, local police had apprehended his brother, Amjad Khan in case of car lifting,(381A),filed in Islamabad the allegedly was handed over to inspector Habibullah of industrial area police station, Islamabad on January 18,2024.
For a month, the police kept his brother in illegal detention and did not produced in court while at the same time, the police asked them to pay ten million rupees to set free his brother, Amjad Khan.
Being a daily wager, he could not pay such huge income, therefore on his refusal, the Islamabad police lodged a false First Information report (FIR) of five kilo heroin smuggling against his brother, Khalil Rehman lamented.
He blamed the Station House Officer (SHO) and Additional SHO of Landi Kotal police station for negligence, who without adopting proper procedure, simply handed over the allegedly suspected in six years old car lifting case to Islamabad police that put a question mark at the efficiency of the police.
He demanded the Inspector General Police (IGP) KP and Islamabad and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the unfairness and passed direction for early and safe release of his innocent brother, arrested in a fake case.
