Two injured in Quetta decoration shop explosion: Police

QUETTA: There was an explosion in a decoration shop on Moti Ram Road, the sound of the blast was heard from afar, and two people were reportedly injured.

SSP Operations Zohaib Mohsin, while talking to the media on the incident place, said that an explosion occurred in a shop on Moti Ram Road, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast.

Mr Mohsin further said that fireworks and other such equipment were present in the shop, and after the bomb disposal squad examines the scene, the nature of the explosion will be determined.

The SSP Operations also said that due to the roofs of the shops being made of TR-garders, they collapsed.

If there had been any explosive material, there would have been marks on the walls, he held.

It is to be recalled that five people, including two policemen, suffered injuries in a hand grenade attack on them on Joint Road, Quetta on Wednesday.

Quetta Civil Hospital sources said an injured woman and two policemen were brought to the hospital and their condition is stable.

He said the injured were given medical treatment.

Sharing details of the incident, police told media that the injured policemen traded fire with some unidentified troublemakers who also lobbed a grenade at police. The miscreants fled the spot, police said.
