Additional Advocate General admits hundreds of illegal appointments in Sindh education department

KARACHI: Additional Advocate General Sindh, Sarwar Khan informed that court as many as 397 people were recruited illegal in the education department and now the department could not afford to pay them their salaries due to budget restriction.

Sarwar Khan admitted before the two member bench of Supreme Court that hundreds of illegal appointments were made in the education department.

During the hearing, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah remarked that this has been a ‘remarkable achievement’ by the Sindh government and Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that if the people are unqualified and ineligible for the posts then why the government didn’t relieve them from their duties.

The Supreme Court’s Karachi registry noted that as long as the employees were on duty their salaries cannot be stopped. The court dismissed the education department’s appeal against the tribunal’s decision. The tribunal had ordered to issue salaries of 19 employees.
