Govt leaves no stone unturned to stave-off crippling disease

ZHOB: Commissioner Zhob Division Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman while presiding over the divisional task force meeting regarding the anti-polio campaign said that the recent anti-polio drive that began today will be more effective and well organized. The health workers should ensure that every child is vaccinated. All available resources would be utilized to stave-off the paralyzing disease.

“It is top priority of the government, as efforts are being made for complete eradication of polio from the country. Resultantly, there has been a significant improvement”, adding those officials and health workers showing leniency would face strict legal action. Commissioner warned. The ex-coordinator of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Balochistan, Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman further said that polio is a disease that cripples a child for the entire life. He emphasized that the masses should help with the health teams by immunizing children to make the country free of the disease. He directed the officers to ensure every child under five years of age should be vaccinated, so that the crippling disease could be completely eradicated.

He asked the educated segments of the society, notables, media persons and religious scholars to sensitize the parents about the crippling nature of the disease and should play their active role to administer anti-polio drops to children in every nook and corner of their respective district. Deputy Commissioner Duki Habib-ur-Rehman Kakar, DC Barkhan Akber Tareen, DC Musakhail Habib-ur-Rehman Jamot, DC Killa Saifullah Amir Awais, ADC Loralai Ejaz Ahmed, Technical Constant (EOC) Dr. Masood Jogezai, N-Stop Officer Dr. Amin, DHOs, WHO, UNICEF and PPHI representatives attended the meeting and briefed the participants about the efforts made for eradicating the polio.
