NAB grills Punjab CM’s son-in-law for over 3 hours in Saaf Pani case

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore chapter on Tuesday grilled Imran Ali, son-in-law of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in cases pertaining to Saaf Pani scandal and assets beyond income.

The son-in-law of Punjab chief minister was questioned for more than three hours in Beauru’s Lahore office.

Imran Ali failed to answer several queries of the anti-graft watchdog’s joint investigation team. He was question as to why billions of rupees funds were transferred to his account by the development company.

Power development company’s former chief financial officer (CFO) Naveed Akram told that Rs13 billons were transferred to Imran Ali’s account.

Sources privy to the NAB said that Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law sought time to answer the queries. Imran Ali could be summoed again if needed.
