NDS rescue 4 civilians from a Taliban-run prison

KABUL: The Special Forces of the Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), rescued four civilians from a Taliban-run prison in southern Helmand province.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced Monday that the NDS Special Forces conducted a raid against the weapons depot and prison of Mullah Mubarak in Khanshin district.

According to a statement released by NDS, Mullah Mubarak is the military commission of Taliban in Helmand who had kidnapped four civilians, Mohammad Khan, Mohamamd Arif, M. Nabi, and Gul Noor.

The statement further added that the four civilians were rescued during the operation and two compounds, 3 vehicles, and 2 motorcycles of the militants were destroyed 3 PKM machine gun, 2 rocket launchers, 7 Ak47 rifles, 23 magazines of Ak-47s, 100 Taliban flags, 3 radio sets, and hundreds of munitions and some other military kits were confiscated.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation so far.
