No compromise on merit, says Governor

BAHAWALPUR: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that we are pursuing a policy of de-politicizing all institutions including universities. He said “No compromise will be made on transparency, merit and rule of law”. The measures of the incumbent government for education are ideal in all respects. Party workers are the real asset of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Governor Punjab addressed the convocation of Islamia University Bahawalpur during his visit to Bahawalpur and was addressing a breakfast gathering organized in honor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Samiullah Chaudhry, PTI members, lawyers, women party workers and other party wings. Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob, DC Irfan Kathia, female member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Simra Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the party workers, Chaudhry Sarwar said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, through its most difficult decisions, not only saved Pakistan from economic bankruptcy but also reduced issues like inflation. He said the initiatives such as Sehat Insaf Card, Ehsas Program, Kisan Card are providing relief to the public. The government is working in good faith to save the people from inflation and other problems including inflation. He said by the grace of Allah Almighty we will meet the expectations of the people.
Governor Punjab said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has a clear policy to give tickets on merit in Punjab local body elections and all decisions will be made in consultation with party workers. Tehreek e Insaf is the biggest political and public party of the country and everyone stands by the policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While addressing the University Convocation, Chaudhry Sarwar said that I can confidently say that all the Vice-Chancellors I have appointed so far in Punjab Universities have been appointed on merit. It is incumbent on them to hire the staff in the universities on merit as the culture of nepotism destroys the institutions. Governor Punjab also congratulated the position holder students at the convocation and appreciated the steps taken by Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob for the university.
