PESHAWAR: Justice Rooh-ul-Amin Khan Senior Puisne Judge/ Administrative Judge IT/ Monitoring Judge Anti-Terrorism Courts/Administrative Judge, prison, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited Anti-Terrorism Court Swat at Timergara. He was briefed by the Anti-Terrorism Judge on the pendency of cases, security of courts and allied matters.
His Lordship thoroughly inspected the premises and thereafter visited the District Jail Timergara.
The Superintendent of the District Jail Timergara made multi-media presentation on Jail related matters. His Lordship thereafter visited the barracks and passed necessary directions in matter of inmates who were in detention for failure to furnish bail bonds.
While visiting the female inmates, the Hon’ble Judge directed legal proceedings leading to the release of female inmates while with sibling baby, who was already on bail in theft case but couldn’t produce the surety bonds as it was a large amount, similarly in other teenage inmate booket in a case under section Foreigner Act, necessary directions were issued for her deputation at the earliest.
Honorable Justice Rooh-ul-Amin also visited the Remote Access Points and directed that it be expanded by including two other adjoining rooms so that video linkage with the Courts of Anti-Terrorism Swat at Timergara & Buner etc made by establishing at the earliest. His Lordship pressed upon the need to use technology for redressal of the grievances and pointed out that it is cost efficient methodology whereby huge sums of exchequer can be saved.
In response to his Lordship directions the Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower undertook to provide IT equipments for the video connectivity with prison. His Lordship spoke of the importance of security of the Courts and the Jail premises.
At the end he heard the submissions of the staff of the Courts. During his visit the Member Inspection Team and DIT of Peshawar High Court, Peshawar were also present besides the Inspector General Prisons Kp, Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower, DPO Dir Lower, other officers of Police and District Administration besides C&W department.
