Sharjeel announced launch of the People’s Bus Service App on June 22

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced the launch of the People’s Bus Service App on June 22.
A high-level meeting of the Transport Department and NRTC officials was held in Karachi, chaired by Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of Transport, Saleem Rajput; Managing Director of Sindh Mass Transit Authority, Kamal Dayo; CEO of Trans Karachi, Tufail Palijo; Project Director of PSB, Sohaib Ahmed; and Operational Manager of People’s Bus Service, Abdul Shakoor Arain. During the meeting, a decision was made to operate the People’s Bus Service through the Intelligent Transport System and integrate it with the online system.

During the meeting, a briefing was provided regarding the features of the People’s Bus Service app. It was highlighted that the app would enable citizens to easily track the location of the vehicle. Additionally, passengers will have access to online booking, route information, fare details, and other essential information.

Moreover, the app will allow users to submit complaints regarding the People’s Bus Service directly to the relevant authorities.

In the briefing, it was highlighted that the implementation of the Intelligent Transport System would facilitate the monitoring of vehicles. As part of the system, CCTV cameras will be installed in the vehicles to enhance surveillance.

Additionally, the vehicles will be equipped with an audio system, USB ports, Wi-Fi communication systems, and driver alarms. These features aim to enhance the overall travel experience and ensure the safety and convenience of the passengers. During the meeting, it was told that 20 green buses would be arriving in Pakistan by August 20 and would be incorporated into the People’s Bus Service. it was decided to conduct additional surveys specifically aimed at initiating the People’s Bus Service on the Lyari Expressway.

During the meeting, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the need to prioritize and address the issue of electric bus chargers. He gave clear instructions to ensure the prompt resolution of the problem related to electric bus chargers. During the meeting, Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, expressed his commitment to providing the public with the best, comfortable, and affordable bus service.

He emphasized that this objective would be achieved under all circumstances, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the needs and satisfaction of the public in the provision of bus services. He emphasized that the Sindh government acknowledges the hardships faced by the people during travel and expressed the intention to alleviate these difficulties.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the rural areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and Mirpurkhas would be linked with urban areas through the People’s Bus Service. He further mentioned that projects would be initiated to facilitate this connectivity and ensure that residents in these rural areas have access to the bus service.
