Taliban’s Supreme Court announces Taziri punishments

KABUL (Afghan Analyst): The Taliban’s Supreme Court declared that 13 individuals, including five women, received Taziri punishments (flogging) in Bamyan city today.


According to the SC’s statement, five were convicted of adultery and illicit relations, each sentenced to two years of imprisonment and 39 lashes. Four faced charges of running away from home, each receiving one year of imprisonment and 39 lashes. Two individuals involved in carjacking and attempted murder were sentenced to seven years of imprisonment and 39 lashes each. Additionally, two others were accused of illicit relations, resulting in one year of imprisonment and 30 lashes each.
