Provision of women rights is govt’s priority: Minister

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law Sultan Muhammad Khan on Friday, said  provision of human rights especially women rights is the priority of  Pakistan Tehreek Insaf Government.

He expressed these views during the  inaugural ceremony of establishment of legal assistance cell in Peshawar  on the occasion of world women day.

He said the Law Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has established  Directorate of Law and Human rights, in order to ensure the provision of  human rights to the people, He said the provincial Government has tabled  domestic violence Bill in the Assembly and will soon approve it.

Minister Law appreciated the struggle of chairman Legal Research Institute of Pakistan, (LRIP) for the establishment of “Legal Assistance cell which will help the community in countering online harassment and other digital challenges to the women.

This is digital age, awareness among the public especially Women is the need of time, therefore every section of society should play their role in comprehending the new technology and its proper use.

The Minister told that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government will support and bring amendments in the existing laws for the sake of justice to women.  Minister Law inaugurated the legal assistance cell in the end.
