F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Fawad Chaudhry was granted bail in the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Jhelum development project corruption case.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the NAB case and granted bail application on Monday.

After the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry’s wife Haba talked to media outside the Court and said they had not fixed the matter of cases against him with anyone.

She said everyone knew why Fawad Chaudhry was jailed, anyhow, she added that her husband will face whatever cases there are and he will stay in Pakistan.

About the political activism of Fawad Chaudhry in the future, Hiba Fawad said he will decide about his political career after the release as it is the first thing in this regard.

Hiba Fawad said NAB kept her husband detained for 30 days but nothing was proved and now told the court that they have written to the National Highway Authority (NHA) and others.

On this, the court asked the NAB about the link of Fawad with such a thing and said that a person cannot be held for such a long time, on which bail was granted, she added.

Answering another question, Hiba said she will ask the legal team when Fawad Chaudhry will come out of jail. She also prayed for release of other [political] people who are in jails.

Criticizing inflation in the country, she said petrol has been increased by 10 rupees now, let’s see what happens next.
